Together with Tommy’s Pizzaria!

One Of The Best Pizzas In The City, Now At Home
It's getting cold out, and staying in sounds better with each day that goes by…
And when you're hungry but don't want to step outside, that usually means picking taste over comfort, or comfort over taste. Never both.
Picture a real New York slice, the kind that folds in half and drips a little down your wrist, or a thick Detroit-style square with a crispy, cheese-crusted edge.
That's not something you usually get delivered.
That's Tommy's, on Corydon. Their pizza maker was nominated for the Top 100 Pizza Makers In The World, out of over 275,000 pizzerias. This isn't just good pizza. It's some of the best in the city, maybe the world.
And if you didn't know, Tommy's now delivers the same world-class slices, straight to your door through DoorDash.
Right now, there are three deals, exclusive to our readers, just for DoorDash orders:
Buy a large specialty pizza, get a 2-topping for $14.99 (code SPEC2TOP)
Buy any specialty pizza, get a free order of panne fritto (code FREEPANF)
Get two large 2-topping pizzas for $32.99, New York style only (code 2LRG2T)
Grab one for dinner tonight, or save it for this weekend, whichever works better for you. Just make sure you use it while these codes last.
They offer everything from classic New York thin crust to Detroit-style pan pizza, Tavern cracker-thin, and Grandma Style thick crust.
Go see the world-class menu, and place your order.

The Love Story Behind Victoria Hospital's Biggest Donor
Will and Mavis Tishinski met at Victoria Hospital in 1956. He was a patient, six weeks out from his engineering finals. She was the student nurse on his ward.
From there, the hospital became part of their story.
Mavis nursed there for 30 years, mostly in the operating room. And once they retired, the two of them kept giving back together, funding the Tranquility Trail for mental health patients and a sensory lounge for patients living with dementia.
Mavis passed away in April at 88. Now Will, 92, has given more than $531,000 in her memory to upgrade one of the hospital's surgical suites, which now carries her name: the Mavis Tishinski Surgical Suite.
With that gift, the couple's giving has passed $1 million, and Will is now the biggest donor in the Victoria Hospital Foundation's history.
It's a lot of money. But more than anything, it feels like a thank you to the place that brought them together.

Manitoba Adds Two New Cabinet Roles for Accessibility and First Responders
Manitoba has two new cabinet ministers, and each has a clear job: making disability services easier to navigate, and supporting the mental health of first responders.
Here's who's taking on the new roles:
Carla Compton, Tuxedo MLA and a registered nurse, is now minister responsible for accessibility.
She'll work on better co-ordination between services and a clearer path to support for Manitobans, their families and caregivers.
David Pankratz, Waverley MLA and a former firefighter, is now minister responsible for first responder initiatives.
He'll work on stronger mental health and workplace support for firefighters, paramedics, police officers and mental health workers.
Both roles will involve hearing directly from the people affected as the province works on improving these services.
It's a step toward making sure both groups have a dedicated voice at the cabinet table, and a big win for the families and first responders who rely on that support.

Manitoba Expands Support for Young Adults Leaving Foster Care
Most of us didn't have life figured out at 18. But we still had someone to call when the rent was due or a form didn't make sense.
For young people leaving Child and Family Services (CFS) care, that person isn't always there, and the jump into adulthood can be a lot harder.
More than 650 young Manitobans leave care every year, and the province is rolling out new programs to help make that move a little easier.
Here's what's changing:
Financial help: Young adults can now get up to three months of financial support while they apply for other government support.
Youth Pathways Team: A new team will help them sign up for income assistance, disability programs and other adult services. Young adults can reach the team directly through a short online form.
The province is also giving nearly $1.7 million to seven community organizations that support young adults, aged 18 to 26, who grew up in care and are on or applying for income assistance.
Growing up is hard enough on its own. Knowing there's someone to call when you need it most can make all the difference.
P.S. Know someone who could use these resources? Share this with them so they know what help is available.
